Nothing like this has ever truly captivated my attention. I mean, I'm the sort of person that isn't attracted by big-ass movies that involve huge-ass monsters (Godzilla) or movies that are recorded on a camcorder (Blair Witch Project). It's kinda odd that I even considered the possibility of watching this, but the trailer made me inexplicably curious. Just what the hell was that attacking the Statue of Liberty? And why the hell is it even there? Honestly, I think I was craving to watch this just because of those questions. Unfortunately, absolutely nothing is answered-- nothing. Luckily, there are some "Holy crap!!" and "What the hell?!?!" moments that I would consider the highlights. Anyone could easily be attracted by that, but really, I'm the kind of person that enjoys the movie specifically for the plot. It's either horrible or excellent...
This movie lacks a plot-- a lot. And I think that's where I could probably be instantly turned off. I mean, sure there's a "What??!!" or a "That's freakin' crazy!!!" in there somewhere, but it's all put to nothing if you're severly confused of the story's plot. The ending is as a truly up to debate, in my opinion. Though... I guess that's what makes the movie so special. I can't say that I'd reccomend it, but there are some scenes where you want to see the reaction of people unaware of the incoming horror awaiting.
So, if you're still planning to or not planning to at all (I doubt it), take note that you'll walk away from the theater not knowing what the hell to say, and, usually, I love when that happens. Here, I had a faint feeling of disappointment. I don't know, I'm really contradicting myself, but seriously, if you're like me, you'll have mixed feelings of the film, too. So, there ya have it... Oh, and seriously, what the hell's up with the title??

I liked it!!! Except the ending sucked ass! There were a lot of shocking moments through out the film....so that was good.
I have no idea why they called it Cloverfield. All it said in the beginning of the movie is that central park was renamed Cloverfield....but why?!!? The film barely even took place in central park. Only at the end....
oh well...

it was covered by all the rocks and stuff from the bridge and if you watch one of the alternate endings you see some guy finding the camera
