I can't believe this. The moment I actually praised this genius actor, he has passed away. While the actor simply died of probably pnemounia, it's heartbreaking to see how he's gone. The man really was commited to his work and it really paid off, seeing how he reached super stardom in his role in Brockback Mountain. Hell, in The Dark Knight trailer, he made every naysayers crap their pants collectively. Recently, he has even been recognized for his roles as he has been nominated for many awards, not to mention of his past recognitions... It will be hard to watch The Dark Knight, while remembering he's dead.

Did he commit suicide?
Maybe it was an accidental overdose, because it's reported in the newspapers that "He told The New York Times in a November interview that he "stressed out a little too much" during the Dylan film, and had trouble sleeping while portraying the Joker, whom he called a "psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy".
"Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night," Ledger told the Times.
"I couldn't stop thinking. My body was exhausted, and my mind was still going."
He said he took two Ambien pills, which only worked for an hour, the paper said."
So he had trouble sleeping, and he probably thought, hey, maybe a couple more might knock me out for good...and ended up OD'ing himself.

Looks like Kevin beat me to the punch  . I think it's great that even modern American teenagers like us have decided to hold a tribute for the passing of a great actor  . I suggest we should all watch the Dark Knight  in Heath Ledger's honor. My condolences go out to Mr. Ledger's family. And though it shall be somewhat discomforting to view the actor's last portrayal I say that as an actor he chose his roles very carefully and fully dedicated himself to it (I mean have you seen the trailer?) so we owe it to the late superstar to watch the film he strived to make epic. |
